TEACHING METHOD teaching method  refers to the general principles, pedagogy and management strategies used for classroom instruction. Teaching theories can be organized into four categories based on two major parameters: a teacher-centered approach versus a student-centered approach, and high-tech material use versus low-tech material use. As I am observe teachers in Thailand use  student-centered approach to teach  .   The teacher’s primary role is to coach and facilitate student learning and overall comprehension of material, and to measure student learning through both formal and informal forms of assessment, like group projects,  and class activity participation .  MATERIAL Authentic materials  as the name implies are actual materials that are created for any reason outside of the classroom. Examples of authentic materials would be things like, newspapers; those are generated for the general public and they're certainly not generated for the use in the classroom. However they c

Wat Klong Chanuan School

Wat Klong Chanuan School is located in Klong Chanuan Subdistrict, Wiangsa District, Suratthani Province, in the South of Thailand. It was established in 1930 B.C. by Father Prom Kesaro, the Abbot of Klong Chanuan temple. School has been expanded in full scheme since 1983 and has been able to seat more students to 6 levels And has extended its curriculum; class 1-3 in Kindergarten level, and class 1-6 in Primary level.  It has around 15-20 students each class.  Wat Klong Chanuan School's Curriculum is Thailand Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (A.D.2008). The school is a bit remote, about half an hour from the resort I'm staying at. the school building looks poorly maintained because it's an old school building, and the school hasn't moved in for a long time. the school has two fields, a field for ceremonies and another large field for sports. there are two teachers' rooms for regular teachers and also higher-level school administrators, as well as a directo

Culture shock

Being in another country, we will definitely experience a culture shock when we arrive there. I also experienced culture shock when I arrived in Thailand. Ceremonies every day. Unlike in Indonesia where they only hold ceremonies on Mondays, in Thailand they hold ceremonies every day. Singing national songs; greet the older ones from kindergarten, grade 1 to grade 6 then greet the teacher; then Pray and end with a little speech from the teacher. Teachers at school wear sandals. This may not be allowed in all schools, but at Wat Klong Chanuan school it is allowed, perhaps because this school is remote. Students are obliged to take off their shoes when they finish the ceremony, even if they are outdoors, and their socks even have holes. Students and teachers are provided with school lunches by the government. But the canteen also sells some cheap snacks for students. After finished taking a break, there are 30 minutes to brush your teeth. This is different from Indonesia, which goes strai

But before going to SRU we were invited by Anthony to a Makham Tia Mueang, a lake and park that is suitable for exercising in the morning. I was the first person who presentation, I was very nervous because I had to present in front of the mentors and lecturers, and also had to use full English. I am grateful that the presentation went well, they appreciated my presentation. Until lunch time we were served food and thai tea. After that we went to Phra That Si Surat, the place is very beautiful. The last place we visited was surat thani- talat, a souvenir shop. The difference between Indonesia and Thailand when giving souvenirs. Indonesian people prefer to give goods but Thai people prefer to give food, so there are not many souvenir shops in Thailand. Even in the shop we visited there were only a f
