- TEACHING METHOD
teaching method refers to the general principles, pedagogy and management strategies used for classroom instruction.
Teaching theories can be organized into four categories based on two major parameters: a teacher-centered approach versus a student-centered approach, and high-tech material use versus low-tech material use.
As I am observe teachers in Thailand use student-centered approach to teach . The teacher’s primary role is to coach and facilitate student learning and overall comprehension of material, and to measure student learning through both formal and informal forms of assessment, like group projects, and class activity participation.
- MATERIAL
Authentic materials as the name implies are actual materials that are created for any reason outside of the classroom. Examples of authentic materials would be things like, newspapers; those are generated for the general public and they're certainly not generated for the use in the classroom. However they can be used within the classroom.
Created materials as the name implies have been produced purely and simply to be used in the classroom. Examples of these would be flashcards, crosswords that have been created within the teaching material that we've got and at a lower level than crosswords, we have things like word searches. We could also include things such as picture stories, role play cards and games in terms of the materials that you use in the classroom.
I observe that teacher in this school they use both authentic materials and created materials, for example are books, flash card, post card, etc.
- SOURCES OF LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY
some of teacher in Wat Klong Chanuan School use text books to sources of learning. There are also some of teacher use another source such as digital learning resources including video, audio, text, websites, animations and images.
Teacher can use traditional or modern technic to teach, because in this school is provide a LCD.
- ASSESMENT
Terry Overtun (2008), “Assessment is a process of gathering information to monitor progress and make educational decisions if necessary. As noted in my definition of test, an assessment may include by a test, but also include methods such as observations, interview, behavior monitoring, etc.”
The teacher in this school assesses the progress of the lesson and at the end of the lesson. There is no assessment recorded during the learning process, only to find out the extent of the student's understanding. During the assessment at the end of the lesson, the assignments are collected and then graded by the teacher.
