Last week in Thailand

September 18, today is my last week in Thailand. Today I didn't go to school, because I'm going to SRU again. We were assigned to present what we learned during our time in Thailand. But before going to SRU we were invited by Anthony to a Makham Tia Mueang, a lake and park that is suitable for exercising in the morning.

I was the first person who presentation, I was very nervous because I had to present in front of the mentors and lecturers, and also had to use full English. I am grateful that the presentation went well, they appreciated my presentation. Until lunch time we were served food and thai tea.

After that we went to Phra That Si Surat, the place is very beautiful. The last place we visited was surat thani- talat, a souvenir shop. The difference between Indonesia and Thailand when giving souvenirs. Indonesian people prefer to give goods but Thai people prefer to give food, so there are not many souvenir shops in Thailand. Even in the shop we visited there were only a few souvenirs. Suddenly it rained very heavily. We had to wait for a while. But the water was rising and the road was flooded, so we couldn't wait to get into the car and continue our journey. Fortunately, we can still escape the flood.

September 19, 3 days before I return to Indonesia. On this day we went to school, it was very hard to leave this school. I don't want to part with the students in Thailand. Because there is only a short time left, I feel I have to spend time with the students.

September 20, today we have a cultural exchange activity between Indonesia and Thailand. But we held the event at Wat Ban Song school accompanied by several students from Wat Klong Chanuan school. After the ceremony, Inna and I danced one of the Indonesian dances, Semarangan. There were also a few quizzes for the children there and several prizes provided by the school. Then we held an excange culture presentation for students in the hall. Me, Inna and Fatta did a presentation about Indonesia. About symbols, animals, plants, flags, tourist attractions, and the Indonesian language. I am so proud to be able to introduce my country to people in other countries. After that we performed the Semarangan dance and Balinese dance, then we also taught the students the dance movements. After that, it was the Thai people's turn to give a presentation about Thailand. Then continued with making somtum, I also participated in trying to make somtum. Then lastly we were invited to play Thai games. Like mice and cats in Indonesia. Culture exchange activities are only carried out from 7.30 to 12.00. After that I returned to Wat Klong Chanuan school. Because it was a busy day and yesterday I got rained on, my body wasn't fit which make me sick. So I slept in the office to restore my body's freshness. That night I felt better. We held a farewell party for Inna and I. We had dinner at Sanghai with Wat Klong Chanuan school teachers and Wat Ban Song school teachers. We also do karaoke together. After coming home we played for a while with Timmy, because she knew we were going home she was very sad and cried. But that night was very enjoyable for us, we had many beautiful memories.

September 21 is our last day at school. After the ceremony took place we said a few thanks and farewells to the teachers and students there. We also received words from student representatives. Inna and I also got lots of sweet gifts from the students. From a letter a ballpoint pen and other small gifts. Even though the gift was small, the sincere feeling when giving it moved me. The students were happy to hug us and there were even some who cried, as did I who cried too. P'Jean gave us a sketch as a gift. I will really miss all the students and teachers there. In the afternoon after school we went to the supermarket to buy some souvenirs for family and friends. That evening we continued packing our belongings. That same night Timmy came again. We spent that night together for the last time.

September 22, the day arrived when I returned to Indonesia. My flight is in the afternoon so in the morning we can go for a walk first. We ask to go to the dam. In my opinion, this place is the most beautiful place during my visit to Thailand. We were also lucky because the weather was sunny. But we only have a little time there and must continue our journey. We planned to go to the highest hill but we felt there wasn't enough time so we decided to cancel it and go straight to the airport. We have to wait a long time at the airport. And that afternoon it rained, the flight was postponed so we waited even longer there. But we are sincere because we can't wait to return home. The flight went smoothly, we also had to be quick to check in again for the next flight. There was one thing that really made a difference, when the announcement was made I already knew the numbers being said so I understood the announcement better than when I first arrived in Thailand. The next flight went smoothly, we arrived in Indonesia at midnight. We continued looking for a car to take us to the station, because we planned to take the train home. Waiting and waiting again for almost 9 hours we waited for the train. But because there is no other choice we can only accept. At 9 o'clock the train leaves and we arrive in Semarang in the afternoon. Very tiring journey.

Summary and Suggestions

 PURPOSE OF PRACTICUM In this sea-teacher project there are several objectives of this project : pre-service teacher students can develop their teaching and pedagogy skills, pre-service teacher students can improve their English language skills and pre-service teacher students can gain a broader regional and world view. Also, pre-service teacher students can gained very valuable and unforgettable experience. I think all the objective of the practicum are meets. I can develop my teaching and pedagogy skill by practicing teaching everyday. I can improve my English because I only can speak English in another country. lastly i can gain a broader regional and world view.
