2nd week in Thailand

September 4 is my second week in Thailand. Now I'm getting used to the Thai environment. This week I started teaching at school. I wasn't very confident the first time. But our mentor said we can do it. "Learning by doing" Anthony's words that I still remember until now. That Monday we also met the director for the first time, we were given gifts from the director. Then we had a small party ceremony for the incoming teachers and those of us who practiced teaching there. We also gave gifts from the university to the school that had accepted us to practice teaching there. That day we also got our first electric pot and rice cooker, so that night we tried to cook by ourselves for the next day

In the morning as usual we went to school to teach. Before going to school we go to the temple opposite the school which has the same name as the school, Wat Klong Chanuan, which is believed to protect the school. That day we started bringing our own lunches.

The next day we taught from morning to evening. This is followed by an evaluation from our mentor. Sometimes we also help other teachers such as cutting paper and others. sometimes we also played with students during breaks, such as volleyball and badminton. This week we also met our new friend who joined the same program as us, she is from UTP Solo. Every night we cook and talk together all night. This will be one of the good memories that I will always remember.

Saturday september 9, 2023, we were invited to go to another sub district, Nakhon Si Thammarat. We went to Phra Mahathat Woramaha Wiharn. had lunch with khanom-Jeen. Then we visited several places such as Phra Ngoen Park, Si Tham Ma Sok Rat Public Park, Shiva Shrine and The national museum of nakhon Si thammarat but the museum was still closed so we just walked around outside the building and lastly we went to the central mall.

overall in this second week has been more enjoyable because we also got a friend from Indonesia so life is more colorful and fun. we have also started to get along with the teachers and students at school. we have also been able to enjoy Thai food.

Summary and Suggestions

 PURPOSE OF PRACTICUM In this sea-teacher project there are several objectives of this project : pre-service teacher students can develop their teaching and pedagogy skills, pre-service teacher students can improve their English language skills and pre-service teacher students can gain a broader regional and world view. Also, pre-service teacher students can gained very valuable and unforgettable experience. I think all the objective of the practicum are meets. I can develop my teaching and pedagogy skill by practicing teaching everyday. I can improve my English because I only can speak English in another country. lastly i can gain a broader regional and world view.
