September 27, 2023, I and my sea-teacher partner (Innaky) arrived in Thailand. I had mixed feeling and didn't expect that I would finally go aboard without my parents. When I was at the airport, I had to memorize the steps so that when I got home I wouldn't be confused, because I had to fly twice, a domestic flight and an international flight. I was very worried and afraid, if I couldn't survive in aboard and wouldn't be able to communicate well with the local people. lucky me, I meet with a good people surround me. When we arrived in Surathani, Mr. Potjanat Khoprasert (Bat) picked us up personally using his car. First we were invited to dinner at Rotee Phanom. We were introduced to Thai food for the first time. Honestly, It felt strange at the first time. Food in Thailand tastes dominantly sour. We were served tom yum noodles then various kinds of desserts such as martabak, rotee with coconut, and rotee tissue. I am grateful to be able to receive the taste of these foods. We also bought Thai tea. I think the taste of Thai tea in Thailand and in Indonesia is different. The taste of tea in Thailand is stronger than in Indonesia.

After dinner, Mr Bat took us around the city. Coincidentally, there was a night market at that time. So we stopped by for a moment to have a look. We also stopped at the river called Menam Ta Pi, the bridge and the tower clock. We also shopped for bananas and drinks for breakfast. lastly we go to the hotel for the night. I am very grateful to get such luxurious facilities.

Inna and I were in a lot of trouble the next morning because that day coincided with filling in the KRS. So that morning we were just in the room to take the online KRS. In the afternoon we got ready to check out and go to SRU. The campus is very big and beautiful. We were given a little tour around the SRU, then went to the faculty of education. We have a short meeting with Deen and staff. We also met SRU student who participated in Sea Teacher; Ping, Pond, Lin, and Ball. After that we had lunch with Biryani rice and Thai tea. I was very sad at that time because I had to say goodbye to Bu Mega. I cried because I was still afraid to live in other country. As time goes on I have to accept and be ready for all situations. I, Inna and my mentor (Anthony) went to Wiang Sa, the city where we will stay for a month. When we got there we were welcomed by the resort owner. The resort owner has a granddaughter who is good at English so we felt lucky to have someone we could communicate with. After put all our things, we continued having dinner together. We ordered some kind of food to enjoy together. Stir-fried spicy shrimp, seafood salad (Yum Talay), yellow curry (Kang Som) and snack called Dok Jok.

August 29,2023, In the morning we were ready for school at 7.30. I was very nervous and afraid if the teachers won't accept me. My mentor always assured me to not worry about anything because he would take care of me. When we arrived at school the students were very enthusiastic about our arrival. When the ceremony began, Inna and I just followed Anthony's directions we were asked to come forward to introduce ourselves. On the first day at school we only make observations. In the afternoon we ate out with Anthony, Kik and Jean, two student interns from SRU to get lunch in Sanghai restaurant. Then we also went to Anthony's friend's cafe. I ordered Es Yenn signature coffe of Thailand, and I also bought fried bananas. In the afternoon there are extra classes, gymnastics and footsal.

That night we were invited by Timmy's family to have dinner together at Rotee Phantom. We ordered stir fry chicken and Thai tea. Thai Tea is like a must order for me hahaha.

On Saturday we didn't go to school because school is only Monday through Friday. We felt bored then we tried to explore the resort, our resort was close to the resort owner's garden. Then we were given a lot of salak and rambutan. In the afternoon we went to the weekend market. Actually we planned to walk but when we arrived in front of the resort we were asked by the resort owner and then the daughter of the resort owner was kind enough to take us there, because the distance was a bit far from the resort. at the weekend market we bought mango sticky rice, briyani rice, korean spicy chicken.

Overall, the first week we are still adjusting to our surroundings. We are also still shy to mingle with the surroundings.
